If I wanted to start up an animal rescue center, would I get paid?

As in like, would I earn money from starting a rescue center, or would I have to just volunteer there and have another job. Because then I probably couldn’t spend all the time I need to looking after the animals and stuff. I’m so confused, please help!! And any extra info would help please as well :)
And I’m in the UK if that makes any difference.

Honestly i don’t think it would work out so well because most if not all rescue centers get their money from donations that go straight to the animals. I believe your best bet would be to work as volunteer on your off time.

    no i dont think you would. unless you worked for animal control. but most independent shelters are non-profit and the workers there are volunteers.
