I am writing a persuasive essay on this and I need some facts and stuff. And if you have ever adopted a pet, I would appreciate it if you would write about it.
The most important reason is saving a life, giving an animal a second chance is one of the most humane things a person can do.
Ok so im doing a persuaive speech about why you should adopt a pet instead of buying one.
What are some reasons why you should adopt a pet over buying one?
Depending on where you live, If you adopt an animal you could be saving a life. (there is a no kill policy where i am)
The animal will already be fixed (usually), it is cheaper than buying froma breeder or pet store.
The animal will most likely be mroe social due to being in a shelter and being around other animals.
But for me the biggest one is that you could save it’s life!

No, adopting a pet is not free. It usually costs around 90 for a cat, and closer to $200+ for a dog (at least at shelters around here). Shelters around here require that you’re 18 — though some require that you’re 21. Yes, you need to show your drivers license… and actually I know some that require that you provide references.
How can you take care of an adopted pet?
Feed it well. Love it. Provide it with vet care. Give it shelter. Give it toys.

turtles are not illegal in the usa. and if u really wanted to, then ya u could, u would just have to get all the paperwork done more carefully. and its gonna cost alot, but if u want one, go for it.
