How long does it take to adopt a god from the humane society?

We are going down and filling out an ap tomorrow for a dog from the humane society…I’m so excited! But I am wondering how long it takes from the time you fill out the ap to when you get to take the dog home?
ya I mean a dog, not God, obviously :)
You guys are all weird…but really funny.

Since we are fast approaching Easter, he is risen indeed…

But still not up for adoption…

Each Shelter is different, ours takes 2 days. Good luck getting a dog, you can let him think you are god!

What is the difference between a county shelter and Humane Society?

Hello, can someone tell me the difference between county shelters and Humane Society?
Thanks everyone, are MOST shelters "kill" facilities? (as the shelter near me is a no-kill facility)

It varies from place to place. In my town, the county shelter keeps the animals in cages, and euthanizes some when space is needed. They also are contracted by the city to provide animal control services (e.g. picking up strays, responding to complaints, issuing licenses, etc.). The Humane Society here does not maintain a shelter. Instead, animals are placed in volunteer foster homes until they can be adopted. They also run a low-cost vaccination clinic, provide discounted spay/neuter vouchers, and have a fund to help low-income pet owners with vet costs.
