Could you show me how to pick up a rabbit that hates handling with a passion? She’s 2 years old now and spayed. I got her from a very crowded warren 2 weeks after she’s weaned. But she never let me pick her up. I’ve been trying all these 2 years and end up with bites/scratches all over me but she’s otherwise very friendly, love grooming and head rubs. Plz help?

rabbits are just such incredibly adorable animals. I had five of them at one time, but sadly, three of them died, all prematurely and unnecessarily, all due to my ignorance. I am still ignorant about rabbits, but I think at this point, I know enough about them, such that if I knew then what I know now, probably none of my rabbits would have died

Usually here we try to match up personalities…say one bunny is dominant than we try to pick a submissive one to be their friend. Opposite sexes usually work best, but sometimes same sex rabbits do just fine. Sometimes rabbits bond right away and other times it can take a while. Patience is key. And, yes, having one rabbit is ok so long as you spend lots of time with him. And make sure he gets out of his enclosure to run around to act like a bunny!
