help with finding a no-kill pet shelter for cat?

My fiance got a cat a few months ago but he has to get give her away now. He’s crushed, and there’s no way he’s going to give her away to a shelter that could euthanize her. Does anyone know of a good, no kill shelter for cats? He wanted to find her a home where he knew the people but so far no one can take her.
Sorry. Denver, Colorado

Enter your zip code and look at the shelter descriptions. Pet Harbor tends to have smaller, private shelters as they charge less.

What area are you in? By my house there is one down the street, but you need to edit you question more to let people know what area you are around.

He’s not crushed enough that he’s willing to give her away.
No kill shelters are over crowded because they are no kill..most of the ones in my area and probably everywhere else are overun with cats that have upper respiratory infections and ring worm because they are so over crowded and they can’t take care of the correctly.
And as far as giving a cat away..the ones that love and want cats already have more than they can handle.
Why not just keep the cat?

No kills will sometimes take "unadoptable" animals to kill shelters and trade out for an animal that is more likely t be adopted. The one I used to volunteer with does this.

I don’t understand why he would decide after a few months he didn’t want it anymore. If he’s that irresponsible, he should have never gotten one to begin with. He should return it to the place he got it.

Why does he "have" to give her away? And where did he get her from? If he got her from a shelter his contract states that that is where the cat needs to be returned to.

This site lists shelters by State – http://fluffynet.com/no-kill-shelters/ If you’re elsewhere just Google no-kill shelters and where you live.

edit: Steffani – you’re getting your information from WHERE? Because it’s completely BOGUS. No-kill shelters don’t deny cats that aren’t altered, etc, etc, etc. In fact, they’re LESS likely to turn away special needs cats. Go volunteer your time at a no-kill shelter and EDUCATE yourself. Until then, refrain from making comments like this because you don’t have a freaking clue.
