A.D.O.P.T. Pet Shelter is located in Naperville, IL. We are a private, “no-kill”, non-profit organization that provides temporary shelter and care to dogs and cats in search of their forever home. Finding homes for our voiceless animals is a priority for us.

Governor Jack Markell explains the new Delaware law he signed this summer creating first-of-their-kind animal shelter standards for Delaware.
The law puts Delaware in the forefront of shelter standards in the country by ensuring that shelters provide proper veterinary care to animals, take reasonable steps to increase the likelihood of animal adoption, and address euthanasia procedures and methods.
Markell also shares the story of an abandoned pet they brought into their home.
The law was sponsored by State Senator Patricia Blevins (D-Elsmere) and championed in the House by State Representative Melanie George (D-Bear/Newark). All five Animal Shelters in the state– Delaware SPCA, Kent County SPCA, Delaware Humane Association, Faithful Friends and Safe Havens Shelter – support the new standards.

Lola and Friends Animal Rescue Dog & Cat Adoption Event every other weekend at Pet Me, Please! in San Diego. For more information visit lolaandfriendsanimalrescue.org or call 619-735-3799 anytime, where adoptions take place 365 days a year. Huge thanks goes out to Pet Me, Please! who continuously offer their parking lot for these ongoing events. Dogs, cats, puppies and kittens offered for adoption each have a unique story. Some have been relinquished by previous owners facing personal challenges, while others were one step away from being euthanized. Not spaying or neutering pets is often times the major reason these animals end up in these situations. It is here, at these events, where prospective and permanent homes can become a reality for many of these ‘displaced’ but innocent animals.

My very first music video! I hope it will convince some to Adopt a Pet. Adopting an animal is important not just for the animal, but for you as well. Pets are thereputic and their love and companionship help relieve stress, depression, and they are always waiting for you when you come home. They don’t care if you’re smart, dumb, skinny, or fat. They give you their unconditional love, they never speak ill of you, and they’re always there for you if you’re feeling sad and/or need someone to talk to. Even if you and the world views you as a failure or a hopeless cause, your pet doesn’t. In their eyes, you are their hero.

The dogs and cats at PAWS Atlanta are all anxiously awaiting a new home. It’s really hard for me not to adopt all the animals. I am glad the cats are cage free and that the dogs get lot’s of walks from volunteers.
