This is a video to show my wonderful cat Snickers. Like everyone she has a story. About a year ago I was at work. I work for an animal shelter and this little four week old kitten that was half starved was brought in. I felt an immediate bond with her and without question I took her home. Everyone at work felt like she was too far gone and suggested euthanasia. After several sleepless nights of round the clock bottle feeding she began to get stronger and healthier. After a visit at the vet she was given a clean bill of health. She’s even FIV negative. Almost a year later she is still able to surprise me with the things she does and brings a smile to my face every day. I know she is grateful for me for saving her but I am so grateful for her. I’ve some bad days and to come home and see her waiting for me is the greatest gift anyone can have.
Ask anyone who works at an animal shelter and they will tell you that it is sickening how many animals are without homes. At our shelter our adoption numbers are going up, but it isn’t enough. Everyday thousands of unwanted animals are euthanized simply because there aren’t enough homes for them. If you buy from breeders or pet stores you are only fueling the need for unwanted animals. If you want a pure bred, there is one sitting at a shelter right now. I think the average was that 25% of animal intakes are pure bred. Until people take responsibility for their pets nothing will change. The first step is to spay and neuter. Make sure your animals have identification.
And for all you breeders out there. This isn’t a way to make money. The responsible breeders barely break even. After vet visits, food, and shots it comes up to a huge bill. If you breed and don’t care about the health of the dog only the price tag you’ve put on them, shame on you. These are living souls who deserve a life of love. Love your animals for who they are and not how much money they can get for you.

A shelter dog’s story: Watch the story of how an ill-mannered former shelter dog, Vinny Love, transforms into a wonderful companion with talent!
I didn’t raise him from when he was a puppy. In fact, I know nothing of his history. He’s not purebred. And he didn’t have the perfect manners, in fact he had aggression issues! However, with training, he was able to transform into a great dog with wonderful manners. I see tons of awesome purebred Retrievers, German Shepherds, Australian Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, Border Collies, and Jack Russell Terriers doing stunts and obedience but Vinny and I are proof that mix-breed shelter dogs can do it too, EVEN the ones with behavior issues!
Our goal through these videos is to not only showcase Vinny Love’s talent, but more importantly, show the world that there are MILLIONS of remarkable animals just like Vinny being euthanized and KILLED in animal shelters worldwide. If Vinny and I have even inspired 1 person to adopt his/her next animal through our videos, we’ve done our job.

HERE IS AN UPDATED LINK FOR DOWNLOADING:

This is a short video. It only took me a few minutes, but is meant to be very meaningful and heartfelt.
PLEASE consider animal adoption- above all- breeders, pet stores, etc.
Besides, why would you want to PAY someone for your best friend? Why would you want to BUY a dog or cat? How about pay an adoption fee and ADOPT!
Remember, every animal you adopt is “one less” that will get euthanized.
Please support your local no-kill shelters. This, in turn, will enable them to rescue more animals from kill shelters in your area, but you AREN’T paying the kill shelters, who use a lot of the money for euthanasia. Instead, you are helping to lighten the kill shelters load. Inadvertantly, you can actually save more animals by rescuing from a no-kill than a kill.
These animals need you. And PLEASE spay and neuter your pets.

Dogs shown in this video come from various cities in Central Florida, Georgia, Nevada, California, St. Louis, New Mexico, and cities inbetween.
Support spay and neutering programs and stop the senseless killing of 4 million dogs and cats in America, many of which are inhumanely gassed. 60% of all dogs and cats euthanized do not have any medical or behavior problems.
Owner-surrendered pets do not go through waiting periods, unlike strays.
Support the measures being taken to lower our current animal over-population in cities throughout the country.
Stop the Gassing. Ask how you can help.
