I love those shelter dog commercials where the dog is talking.
Anyways!
This lil ball of loving fluff was a stray.
He was thrown out and left on his own.
After finding him we waited in the front of our house, he came to our back yard, for his owner to come looking.
Nadda.
Went to 3 vets and had him checked for a ID microchip.
Nadda.
Had the vets put up “Dog found” flier things.
Nadda.
He was seemingly unwanted.
He would have been sent to the shelter if we hadn’t found him.
Yet as you can see there is nothing wrong with him.
Though there was something really wrong with the owner to leave this guy to fend on his own :/
He’s officially ours now and in prefect health :3
When I found him he was so skinny I could see every bone in his body, even through his thick fur I could see his ribs.
Now he’s about 16 lbs I believe it was and has the prefect body fat ratio :3
He wakes me up every morning with this act, rolling around and pawing at me for more attention.
He’s house trained and gets along perfectly with our other 2 dogs.
He even likes my bunny, though I limit their interaction to sniffing each other.
And I think most people worry how the dog is going to be around kids.
This lil guy is amazing with kids. He never bites or even nips.
And is extremely gentle with kids of any age.
He’s about 2 years old, maybe 2 and a half now. We’ve had him for about a year. So he’s not gonna leave us any time soon :3
So next time your thinking about adding a fuzzy kid to your family, why not think about getting a shelter dog :3

I volunteer at the City of Jacksonville Animal Care & Protective Services shelter, and something we teen volunteers get to do is be present during a pet adoptions On-Demand commercial once a month. In this commercial, I’m with Ms. Joy Bartley and one of our shelter dogs, Bandeau, who was adopted last week. He is an 11-month-old pitbull/bulldog mix.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a way of getting a professional recording of the commercial, so I had to film it as we played it on TV.

The puppies in this video are from the Humane Society and are being fostered because they are too young to be put up for adoption. Young puppies and kittens are dropped off at the Humane Society for various reasons. Most commonly, irresponsible breeders do not want to care for the puppies anymore. As a foster family, our job is to care for puppies like these until they are old enough to be placed into a permanent home. The puppies in this video are estimated to be three weeks old. At the time of this video, the puppies are all under two pounds each. Because this litter is so young, they need to be bottle fed every few hours, even throughout the night. It is a lot of work to volunteer as a foster home, but it is also very fulfilling.
The puppy with a pink collar is a girl and her name is Mercedes. The puppy with green collar is a boy and his name is Cadillac. The little boy with a yellow collar is Lamborghini. The black and brown puppy is a girl named Ferrari. Bentley is the black and white boy.
Before you buy from a breeder or, worse, a pet store, please take a look at your local animal shelter or Humane Society. There are so many fantastic animals looking for a second chance and a loving home. Also go to your animal shelter to find out more about fostering or other volunteer opportunities.
